Once again we were out on the road this week delivering the Effer-K message to a group of physicians. Our stop this week: Des Moines, IA at the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians meeting. Exhibiting at this meeting marked our first foray into marketing directly to physicians in the state of Iowa, and once again, we were met with a lot of interest and requests for samples.
Many of the family physicians relayed their challenges in getting their patients to take their potassium and seemed genuinely happy to learn about the availability of Effer-K.
At these meetings we offer samples of Effer-K, however many are hesitant to try it because they associate potassium with the unpalatable tasting KCl liquid. I find myself frequently explaining that the chloride in KCl is what gives it the salty taste and that Effer-K is potassium citrate – not chloride. But, still, many are afraid to take a sip.
Most physicians who do try Effer-K are pleasantly surprised. After trying the Unflavored Effer-K dissolved in apple juice, one physician remarked. “Ooooh that tastes good. I guess I am just tasting apple juice.” Exactly. That is why we call it Unflavored!
Thanks to all who stopped by our booth,
